The Sharks took home a 4-2 win over the Canadiens Saturday night, powered by a strong offensive night from Macklin Celebrini, who scored twice and added an assist. San Jose's offense built momentum through the middle of the game and held off Montreal late to secure the victory.

First Period

Montreal opened the scoring midway through the period when Cole Caufield fired a snap shot into the net for his 38th goal of the season. The goal was set up by Juraj Slafkovsky and defensemen Noah Dobson, giving the Canadiens an early 1-0 lead.

San Jose fired back later in the period when Celebrini buried a snap shot, assisted by Collin Graf and John Klingberg, tying the game at 1-1.

Both teams generated more chances throughout the period, with goaltenders Alex Nedeljkovic and Jakub Dobes making several key saves to keep the score even heading into the second.

Second Period

The Sharks took control in the middle frame. Defenseman Mario Ferraro gave San Jose its first lead of the night with a snap shot, assisted by Alexander Wennberg and William Eklund.

San Jose extended the lead later in the period when Grad scored on a snapshot with an assist from Celebrini and Klingberg. The Sharks' forecheck and offensive pressure helped them build a 3-1 advantage heading into the third.

Third Period

Montreal pushed back early in the final frame as captain Nick Suzuki scored to cut the deficit to 3-2. The goal, assisted by Ivan Demidov and Dobson, gave the Canadiens life late in the game.

However, Celebrini struck again to steal the win. The forward scored his second goal of the night on a snap shot, assisted by Graf and Barclay Goodrow, restoring the Sharks' two-goal lead and closing out the scoring.
